Amilyen gyorsan jött, olyan hamar el is múlt a Karácsony, és egy nap híján a december is. Talán ennek a hónapnak a múlását érezzük a leginkább. Az esetünkben biztosan. Az első karácsonyi vásáron való megjelenésünkig nem is tudtunk azzal foglalkozni, hogy hamarosan ünnepelünk. Hiába dekoráltam ki a lakást, nem segített, mert agyban máshol jártunk, milliónyi kérdéssel, hogy még mit kell elintézni az első vásárunkig.

The Christmas holiday came so fast that already gone and only one day left from the December in this year! Maybe this month going the quickest way. I have no doubt that the December was the shortest month in our year. Until our first Christmas Market event we could not prepare for the holiday. It did not matter that I made some decoration in our flat because our head were full with ideas for our first Christmas Market.
Aztán december 12-e után minden megváltozott. Szépen készülődni kezdtünk az ünnepekre, de az otthonra jellemző meghittség hiányzik az itteni kultúrából. Így nekünk is nehezebb volt ráhangolódni lélekben a Karácsonyra.
After 12th of December everything changed. We started to arrange for the holiday but the intimacy, what we find in home, is missing from the English Christmas. So in this way it was harder to feel the essence of the Christmas.
24-e mozgalmasan telt, mindketten dolgoztunk még aznap is, és az előtte levő napokon is. Ezért a karácsonyi menü elkészítése és egy gyors vásárlás beiktatása is még Szentestére maradt. Későn ültünk le vacsorázni, de a halászlé és a frissen sült rántott hús mindenért kárpótolt. :)
On the 24th of December we were busy because we worked and on the previous days too. So we had to make a quick food shopping and we had to cook the Christmas menu on the Christmas Eve. We had a late-dinner but the fish soup and the fried chicken were amazing! :)
Másnap következett a tényleges pihenés, ébresztőóra nélküli ébredéssel, nagy sétával, finom falatokkal, és a családjainkkal való skypeolással. Amennyire lehetett, közel hoztuk őket magunkhoz, vagy inkább mi igyekeztünk lélekben Velük lenni. :)
On the next day we just chilled: we woke up without alarm and we took a walk in the central. After that we had a lovely lunch and we spoke with our families on Skype. We tried to bring them as close as possible! :)
Angliában egy nap a Karácsony, másnap újra beindul az élet, amikor is egyből óriási akciókba kezdenek a boltok. Ha már így alakult, hogy idén kettesben töltöttük az ünnepeket, bármennyire is furcsa számunkra, de alkalmazkodtunk az itteni környezethez. Vagyis mi is nekivágtunk a sétálóutcának és a boltoknak. Nagyon furcsa látni, hogy itt az ünnep az ajándékokról szól, és mégis a rákövetkező 26-án újra embertömegek vágnak neki a boltoknak, hogy még többet költsenek. Mintha nem is előző nap ajándékozták volna meg egymást!
In England the Christmas is only one day and on the next day (26th of December) the shops do lots of huge sales. It calls Boxing Day. In this year we celebrated only two of us so we accomodated to the circumstances. It was weird but we went to shopping too. I do not really understand this behaviour: the Christmas Day is about the presents and on the next day the people go to the shops to spend more money! It was like they do not even present each other on the previous day!
Pár napja volt Karácsony, de olyan hihetetlen, mint egy látomás. Minden visszatért a rendes kerékvágásba, 26-án már láttunk is egy kidobott fát. Kész, vége. Ennyi volt. Ha jövőre minden úgy alakul, ahogy szeretnénk, akkor otthon töltjük az ünnepeket a szeretteink körében. Hiszen a családtagjaink pótolhatatlanok!

The Christmas was only on the last weekend but I feel as if it was a vision. Everything went back to the normal and we saw a christmas tree on the street on 26th of December. That was it. It is over.
If the next year goes well for us, we will celebrate the Christmas holiday with our families in Hungary! Because they are irreplaceable!
